1/24/25 The State Department on Friday the 24th issued a “stop work” order that brought many aid programs to a screeching halt. There’s a 90 day freeze on most foreign aid. But two of the largest military aid pieces — Israel and Egypt who both use that aid to oppress and violate human rights were exempted. So abusing human rights continues to get funded, saving and protecting human lives not so much. This is being portrayed as a "pause" but as many experts point out it will have immediate impacts and disrupt and end work and even "kill people".

On Jan 29th NBC reported: "Several executive orders Trump signed last week pause or end some federal funding. Those executive orders, which remain in place, include the freezing of foreign aid, all funds to federal grantees who received money for DEI-related purposes and all funds appropriated through the Inflation Reduction Act." 1/30/25 Despite Trump "recinding" the Office of Management and Budget Memo the forign aid "pause" is still in effect - though no one seems to know what exactly is bring paused. It's chaos, which is the point. It is causing widespread damage and very likely harming people. Read a recent report here.
